Sustainability

For us, innovation means more than just state-of-the-art technology

Beyond our mobile imaging solutions, we aim to be pioneers and take responsibility when it comes to sustainability.

Climate neutrality

Health is our foundation. That is why we want to do our part for the health of our planet and the quality of life of future generations, and have been climate neutral at our Ziehm Imaging Global Headquarters since 2019.

What is climate neutrality?

Climate change is one of the greatest challenges of our time, is becoming increasingly noticeable and affects us all. One of the foremost causes is the rapidly increasing amount of CO2 in the atmosphere.

When the climate is not affected by processes or actions, when there is a balance between CO2 emissions and the sequestration of carbon from the atmosphere, this is known as 'climate neutrality'.

How are we climate neutral?

In collaboration with Fokus Zukunft, we were able to precisely determine the CO2 emissions of our Global Headquarters. With the help of climate protection certificates and by supporting recognized climate protection projects, resulting emissions are compensated.

Projects

We support climate protection projects in developing countries - for a better future.

Sustainability

Brazil: Protecting a threatened ecosystem

The Buenos Aires Renewable Energy project concerns a ceramics factory in the municipality of Buenos Aires, Pernambuco, in northeastern Brazil. Ceramic bricks and tiles are produced there, mainly for the regional market in Pernambuco.

The project has replaced the use of native wood from the Caatinga biome to fuel the kilns with renewable biomass, such as wood residues, eucalyptus and native wood from sustainable c cultivation.

In this way, the project contributes to the protection of the Caatinga biome, which covers 11% of the Brazilian territory and is one of the most threatened ecosystems in the world.

Vietnam: Hydropower for people and the climate

The construction and operation of a hydropower plant with a reservoir in the Dak Nong province in the central highlands of Vietnam supplies the region with electricity and water. Thousands of hectares of vegetable-growing land are irrigated by the water stored in the regional rivers and streams.

By feeding the electricity generated into the national grid, the energy supply for Vietnam's sustainable economic growth is secured.

The construction of the power plant also led to the creation of 1,851 additional jobs during the construction phase and 124 permanent jobs during the operation of the hydropower plant.

CONTINUING

Within the framework of our 'Quality Awareness' program, we continuously work on improving our products and processes in order to further expand our sustainable approach going into the future.
